Any state employee caught with unauthorized construction will not be allowed to work in the state for 7 years. The extreme measure was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, who, in a press conference, alongside the ministers of Internal Affairs and Justice, announced new measures for the protection of the territory.
Rama has not spared irony even with the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, about whom he said that when he was Prime Minister, he declared Bathore as the 8th wonder of the world, since it was all built without permission.
"The sport of illegal construction has developed as a national sport, it has been encouraged from above, there was someone before me who called Bathore the 8th wonder of the world because he called it the only city in the world built entirely without permission.
The globe doesn't have 7 wonders for 8. Even state employees have been involved in illegal construction.
"If this is found, they will be banned from working in the state for 7 years from the moment they are notified of the measure," he said.
