Prime Minister Edi Rama has returned to his warnings that as part of the liberation of public spaces, bar tables and chairs will also be removed, which he said are endless.
At the international conference Walk21, where in its 25th edition experts from all over the world have gathered to share experiences and ideas on the best ways to develop and implement policies that make walking a daily choice of urban life, Rama said that work continues to free up public spaces. He focused on the new rules that will be applied, emphasizing that every builder who receives a building permit will be forced to contribute to the green fund with trees.
"We have to fight every day to remove the temporary structures that have occupied sidewalks and public spaces where endless tables and chairs have been placed to serve espresso, which we have the best, but this is no excuse. Every day they are taking over the spaces and we want to add more trees and greenery to the city. Anyone who receives a building permit must contribute to the green fund with trees," he said.
