The American State Department in its report has analyzed Albania's efforts in the fight against terrorism. In the DASH report, it is said that Albania continued its efforts against terrorism in 2022, repatriating 13 of its citizens from the al-Hol camp in Syria.

Albania continued its strong support for international counter-terrorism efforts in 2022, repatriating 13 of its nationals from al-Hol displaced persons camp in Syria and engaging in their reintegration and rehabilitation throughout the year . The country has adopted a national strategy against terrorism and violent extremism (CVE) until 2025 and is revising the CVE strategy. The threat of terrorism in Albania consists in the efforts of foreign terrorist organizations to radicalize Albanian youth.
Terrorist Incidents for 2022:
There were no reported terrorist incidents in Albania in 2022. In December, the Special Court for Organized Crime and Corruption sentenced an Iranian national to 15 years in prison for preparing terrorist acts.
On May 28, Albania successfully repatriated 13 citizens from displaced camps in Syria. The Albanian government's CVE Center led the rehabilitation and reintegration of these individuals and coordinated the efforts of various ministries, international donors, members of civil society and non-governmental organizations to support these efforts. This was the second repatriation in a one-year period carried out by the Albanian authorities, for 38 repatriated women and children.

Albania has pledged to increase its border security and control efforts to stop terrorists, with the support of US experts and programs. Albanian law enforcement services cooperate extensively with INTERPOL and other international law enforcement bodies. Albania continues to work on the implementation of United Nations Security Council resolution 2396 regarding Advanced Passenger Information and Passenger Names data and established a Passenger Information Unit with the support of the United States. Albania supports a port security surveillance system to implement the requirements under the International Maritime Organization's International Ship and Port Security Code.

Në raportin e saj vijues të majit, Shqipëria vuri në dukje përparim në adresimin e mangësive të identifikuara të pajtueshmërisë teknike.
Kundër ekstremizmit të dhunshëm:
Qeveria e Shqipërisë ka një strategji kombëtare të CVE deri në vitin 2025 dhe ndaj ka hartuar një të re. Qendra Kombëtare e CVE koordinon dhe menaxhon programimin e CVE midis donatorëve ndërkombëtarë dhe kërkon të sigurojë që të gjitha ministritë të bashkëpunojnë në mënyrë efektive dhe të shmangin dyfishimin e përpjekjeve. Qendra Kombëtare e CVE koordinoi dhe menaxhoi pritjen, rehabilitimin dhe riintegrimin e të gjitha grave dhe fëmijëve të kthyer. Qendra Kombëtare e CVE është kërkuar për këshilla nga vende të tjera për shkak të sukseseve të saj me riintegrimin.
Ambasada në Tiranë mbështet përpjekjet e CVE me një gamë të gjerë programesh ndihme dhe angazhimesh diplomatike, duke përfshirë grupet e komunitetit lokal që identifikojnë dhe zbutin faktorët në themel të ekstremizmit të dhunshëm. Fondi Global i Angazhimit dhe Rezistencës së Komunitetit, në koordinim të ngushtë me Qendrën Kombëtare të CVE, financon tre organizata që punojnë në çështjet e CVE: Instituti për Demokraci dhe Ndërmjetësim, Linja e Këshillimit për Gratë dhe Terre des Hommes.
Departamenti i Shtetit mbikëqyri zbatimin e një granti të gjashtë të CVE për Komunitetin Mysliman Shqiptar, i cili përfshinte angazhimin e klerit islamik me të rinjtë në rrezik, prindërit e tyre dhe udhëheqësit qytetarë për t’i larguar të rinjtë nga radikalizimi drejt dhunës, si dhe informimin e tyre për parimet demokratike, të drejtat e njeriut, angazhimin qytetar dhe tolerancën.
