The former prosecutor, Eugen Beci, speaking about Altin Duman's report to the Assembly, said that the law for the head of SPAK should be clearer, since the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office cannot go to give account to those persons who can are potentially subject to it.
In an interview for the show "Reviwe" on "Euronews Albania", Beci said that unlike the General Prosecutor, the head of SPAK is not elected by the parliament, but by the KLP and perhaps it should be the KLP that goes to report to the parliament.
" I want to give an assessment for a conclusion that the jurors have had these days when they saw the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office reporting, in front of his subjects, or potentially his subjects. If you look at the law and see the way the head of SPAK reports, it is unclear how the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office can go and report to the Assembly. The law foresees it in a vague and very unclear way, it says that once the bodies of justice report, once the General Prosecutor and once the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office. When the head of SPAK goes to the law commission, here the law is clear that he must go to report but not give an account. It is the duty of the deputies to understand in order to ask general questions that go into the verification of the constitutional work of the Special Prosecutor's Office.
Why should the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office be accountable to his subjects, when he is not elected by his subjects. But it is chosen by the High Council of Prosecution. Why doesn't the head of the KLP go to answer all the questions of the deputies ", said Beci.
