The Directorate of Prisons reacts: Two injured by gunfire in Peqin prison

The General Directorate of Prisons has reacted regarding the situation in Peqin prison. It is announced that in Peqin prison there was a conflict between three people sentenced to life imprisonment. As a result, two of them were injured.

The General Directorate of Prisons also underlines that the authorities are working and that the situation is being managed. It is also clarified that there are no guards, police staff or civilians injured.

Involved in this event, Sokol Mjacaj, who was reported to have fired a gun at a police officer, is sentenced to life imprisonment. Then he held the kitchen staff hostage with a gun.
