Analyst Erl Murati has commented on the situation of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, for whom SPAK demands the arrest for the 'Partizani' affair.
Murati says that he believes that the Assembly will open the way to SPAK's request, while for the former prime minister, the measure will be tightened to house arrest.
As for the deputies supporting Berisha, Murati says that they are not impressed by their attitude as long as they call SPAK a criminal organization. According to him, the opposition should vote for the removal of Berisha's mandate.
"The issue is in the institutions, Berisha refused to appear, the opposition must be the one to hurry up and remove any kind of immunity and give way to justice. The opposition calls SPAK a criminal organization, I am not impressed by the attitude of Berisha's supporters", said Murati on Report TV.
He says that deputies and democrats should separate the fate of the party from the fate of Berisha, stressing that the former prime minister is no longer the future of the Democratic Party.
I expect reflection from those democrats within the DP group, who must have the political clarity that Berisha cannot be the future of the DP. I am not dealing with individual guilt because justice will determine it, the opposition must take its own measures, reform. If she is to rise again and have a chance to take power in 2025, she must share her fate with Berisha's. If they continue on this path, it will certainly be long.
