Journalist Erl Murati spoke today about the current political situation in our country. He has commented on the return of Lulzim Basha to the head of the Democratic Party and says that he does not think it will bring changes and that he views it with skepticism.
"The opposition is in a bad situation because it has not been in power for 10 years and is not even close to power. From a political point of view, I cannot analyze Basha's return too much, because he is the third opposition force. Berisha and Basha are both to blame for the fatal situation in which the DP is today. These are people who do not think for the good of the opposition. Whether Basha will succeed or not, I see it with great skepticism", said Murati.
As for the latest developments related to the investigations of the Tirana incinerator, he said that SPAK, for its part, has done a serious job.
"I believe that SPAK is doing its job, but whether these accusations will be translated into punishments, it remains to be seen how justice will act. It is important that SPAK does its work and raises serious charges in court. We are talking about the mafia, once they were businessmen or honorable officials, but as long as they conspire to rob the state budget of hundreds of millions of euros, we are definitely at the level of the mafia. For me, the personal fate of one or the other is not important, but that it was seriously investigated by SPAK, I believe that international pressure was decisive in the investigation of this file. Their positive pressure has helped SPAK to work without fear of pressure. The majority did not have the political will because apparently it was involved itself.
I believe that the fact that SPAK has hit high officials, I don't know if it will go higher or to the right... Ahmetaj is the big fish because he was number two in the government. If there are elements of the prime minister's criminal offense, he will definitely document them", he said.
