The son of Remzi Hoxha, Ardian Hoxha, has spoken about the disappearance of his father, that the family never found his remains, while he has revealed for the first time the "bombastic" facts regarding this serious event that can rightly be considered like the murder and the file of the century. On the morning of October 21, 1995, four people who introduced themselves as employees of SHIK, took the Albanian-Macedonian businessman, Remzi Hoxha, by car, while the latter was in his duralumin firm "Albatros". According to witnesses, Remziu got into a white car, and after that no one knows what happened to him. But on those days, the Kosovar journalist Avdyl Loshaj and Sarandjo businessman Ziso Kristopulli were also kidnapped. Surviving torture during the 1997 investigations, they confessed that SHIK had kidnapped and mistreated them, accusing them of being foreign agents. For Remzi Hoxha, they testified that he had been tortured, but they did not know where he had ended up. But in an exclusive interview for the "SOT" newspaper, the son of Remzi Hoxha has revealed the reason why his body disappeared without a trace, the persons responsible and the role of the former president and former prime minister, Sali Berisha in this serious event.
- Mr. Hoxha, thank you for accepting the interview invitation. "SOT" newspaper as the oldest and largest media in Albania has been, is and will be a media window for anyone who wants to denounce any injustice. Over the years, we as the media have denounced and published everything related to your late and honorable father, who disappeared and lost his life in a mysterious and tragic way in 1995. Today as we speak, we feel sad and disappointed that even why almost 29 years have passed, law enforcement authorities have not yet managed to clarify this serious event, bringing to justice all those responsible who were involved in the torture, murder and disappearance of the late Mr. Remzi Hoxha. So without further ado, I'm starting with the interview. Mr. Ardian Hoxha, can you give us any recent information on the investigation into the murder of your father, Remzi Hoxha? What has happened so far regarding the investigation of the incident and what is the current status of the investigation?
It's been more than 28 years that we've been looking for a simple and humane thing, and that is to find the bones, to find the remains of my father, and to make him a grave, just like any human being. And so far, we haven't been able to do that, and that's because no one in Albania has helped us find the real body of my father, and no one in politics, in the government of Albania, has made a real effort to help us. help in that direction. There were individuals and political parties who used my father's name whenever they wanted to throw stones at those who did it, but that was it. Nothing more happened. And, of course, we are really disappointed by every politician in Albania, and by everyone in the justice system in Albania, even by the prosecution and everyone else. What message does this give to every Albanian around the world?
- You are disappointed by the Albanian authorities that have put water on fire to clarify this event, which can rightly be called the murder of the century...
Of course we are disappointed, because every person, every single individual, needs to be found and buried, and the family needs to move on. And my father was not just an ordinary somebody. My father was a person who is known all over the world and especially in Albanian lands, and he is a person who has given so much for the freedom we enjoy, for the peace we live, for the days we live. And he really doesn't deserve this. And every politician in Albania should be ashamed of this.
-Has anyone ever told you that the bones are in such and such a place? Is it vital for you to find the bones?
Yes, there have been many cases since the beginning and I remember how my uncles were emotionally and psychologically tortured by people who are thugs and gangsters who, to get money from our pain, played with our emotions and drove us to the bone. and graves that belonged to other people. And on one occasion my uncle Nejhmed was also given the bones of a dog, and he had to pay $30,000 for those bones, otherwise his life was threatened. As for me, I have opened over 100 graves myself, even knowing that it is illegal to do so, but I took the risk because it is about my father and a son would do anything for a father. But unfortunately, none of the bodies, none of the bones were my father's, because we also did the DNA tests, so that's the situation.
-What are the accusations made against the persons suspected of murdering your father and how are the legal procedures progressing in the face of these accusations? Has there been any significant development in this direction? Can you name and denounce the people who allegedly ordered your father's murder and those involved in his abduction, torture and execution?
We still don't believe in the justice system in Albania, just like millions of Albanians who don't either, and this is one of the main reasons why people are fleeing Albania and looking to continue their lives in other countries of the world where they feel safe and can raise their children. Yes, Albania is making great progress economically and in tourism. Some improvements are also being made in the infrastructure, in the school infrastructure, and in the hospital infrastructure as well, but people do not feel that Albania is the right place to raise their children. And we also have very low hopes, and I'm sure you understand why. It's been more than 28 years that we've been looking for something very, very simple, just to have my father's remains. I am not asking for my father to be alive. I'm looking to find him dead, find his body and make him a grave.
-Is there any help or support you have received from human rights organizations or other groups to help clarify the incident and ensure that those responsible are held accountable?
Politicians and government officials in Albania do not care at all about international organizations or any other organization. Despite the fact that many global and international organizations have raised their voices, made demands, there has been no movement at all. We had really hoped that when Edi Rama came to power, when the Socialist Party came to power, we would find my father's remains. But now it is almost three terms that they are fulfilling and we have nothing.
-How do you experience the impact of media publications and public opinion regarding the murder of your father and what role does this play in efforts to unravel the event and seek justice?
Every time we hear our father's name, every time we see the news, our wound opens again, and even our soul aches. Even today, as I am doing this interview, I feel a lot of pain. People think they can understand how we feel as a family, but you can only imagine. It's much harder than when someone dies. You can imagine how it feels when someone dies, as we have all had people in our families who have died, but this is much, much more painful. For us, it would be a relief to find him dead. Imagine this.
- Thank you! Do you have a message for Albanian citizens wherever they live and work?
Actually, I have a request that I would like to make, as I know that in the past people have been afraid to speak up because of the old monster, Sali Berisha. But anyone who can give us any information can send it in any way they want about the location of my father's remains or remains. It would be greatly appreciated by us, as our souls would finally find peace. / TODAY
