Farmers and livestock farmers are protesting in front of the Directorate of Agriculture in Devoll.
As a sign of protest, they also took the tractors, which they lined up in front of the directorate.
They are protesting because they are not able to sell the wheat and against the reduction in the price of milk by the collectors. According to them, there are two reasons for not selling wheat and the low price of milk, since in both cases large quantities come from imports.
They have submitted a series of demands to the Ministry of Agriculture.
1- Equalization of VAT for agricultural products;
2-Reimbursement for each liter of milk;
3-Tax-free oil for agricultural tools;
4- VAT invoice with real price from the collection point on the day of delivery of the product;
5- Subsidy for seeds and seedlings;
6- Subsidy for organic products
The protesters have warned of an escalation of the protests if the Ministry of Agriculture and the government do not protect the interests of local farmers, and even go further when they say that they will move their protest to the capital.
In recent months, it has been the livestock farmers from the southern districts who have protested the most, demanding the removal of the monopoly of the processing factories along with other demands.
While farmers' protests have been seen by all EU countries against the Common Agricultural Policy.
