Theologian Neki Kaloshi commented on the case published yesterday where a cardiologist was arrested after using a minor for prostitution for two years.
It is about Dervish Hasin, who had sexual relations with the 16-year-old since she was still 14 years old. Hasi, who claims to belong to the Muslim faith, had 3 wives, while he presented the minor as his fourth wife.
In an interview for "Euronews Albanai", the theologian Kaloshi said that as long as the Albanian law prohibits polygamy, it is unacceptable in the Islamic religion.
" According to Islamic legislation, polygamy has its own rules, but always within the framework of Islamic legislation, which guarantees rights to all family members. Implementing polygamy illegally is unacceptable. The legislation in force in Albania must be respected by all believers ," said the theologian.
He said that parents have a responsibility towards their daughters, as he emphasized that they should show maximum support to them.
" I want to emphasize that according to Islamic legislation, a husband must meet certain criteria to marry one woman, not several. He has all obligations to his wife, including all expenses, housing and creating comfort for his wife. When we talk about more than one wife, Islam in principle recognizes having more than one wife, but Islam is a religion for all peoples, so it adapts according to countries.
Since marriage with more than one wife is prohibited by law in our country, if this was not allowed by law, it is not allowed in Islam. As for age, relations with a woman who has not reached maturity and adulthood are not allowed in the Islamic religion. "Relationship with minors is strictly prohibited ," said the theologian.
