Fuel price increase, Civil Society protests today in front of the Prime

Civil society is expected to hold a protest today, March 23, in front of the Prime Minister's Office, at 5:00 PM.

The call for protest has been distributed on social networks, where citizens are appealed to participate en masse in this rally.

The protest comes in reaction to rising fuel prices, while organizers have emphasized that the main goal is to reduce them.

Through this initiative, public awareness and pressure are sought to cope with the increasing costs that are directly affecting citizens.

The price of oil in Albania has marked an immediate increase, just one day after Prime Minister Edi Rama warned market operators to avoid abuses, otherwise the Transparency Board may be reinstated.

Within 24 hours, the price of diesel has increased by 12 lek per liter, while at some gas stations in Tirana the price has reached up to 214 lek/liter.

The increase comes at a time when the market has been affected by developments in the Middle East. Since the start of the conflict, the price of oil in the country has increased by about 40 lek per liter.

Before the escalation of the situation, oil was trading in the range of 173–175 lek/liter, reflecting a significant increase in a short period.
