Residents of the village of Fushë-Milot, in Kurbin, protested due to the lack of infrastructure, blocking the road connecting the area to the Lezhë-Milot highway for several minutes.
According to them, the road segment, about 2 kilometers long, has been severely damaged and has become almost impassable due to numerous potholes. Residents blame the traffic of heavy vehicles transporting inert materials from the Mat River for this situation.
"The road from Shullaz to the highway underpass is very damaged. We are eating dust here," said one of the residents.
Others stressed that the condition of the road is unacceptable and demanded immediate intervention from the responsible institutions.
"This road is a scandal, we demand that it be paved. In winter and summer, it is difficult to breathe from the dust. The only investment here was made 25 years ago, so we demand that measures be taken for its reconstruction ," said the protesters.
The road connecting the old axis to the highway is used by several villages in Kurbin and also serves as an alternative route to ease traffic during the summer season. However, over the last five years it has suffered extensive damage and, according to residents, despite constant complaints and protests, no intervention has yet been made for its repair and maintenance.
