Pedagogy Jonila Godole, commenting on the agreement of Prime Minister Edi Rama with the Italian counterpart for the establishment of a center for immigrants, emphasized that the decision was made without transparency.
In an interview for the show 'News 24', she added that Albania does not benefit from this action, at a time when Turkey has benefited 11 billion euros from the EU for stopping immigrants coming from the Middle East.
" It was an agreement signed by both parties, and as is known, neither the opposition in Albania knew about it nor the European Union. The Prime Minister acts as if he is in his own fiefdom and a question that raises is what Albania gains. He brings as an example Turkey, which has received 11 billion euros in the last 10 years to prevent refugees from going to the EU. How are decisions made here without transparency for the Albanian citizens?! Before solving Mrs. Meloni's issues, the Albanian prime minister must think about Albania.
I can't say it is good or bad to deal with immigrants, but how the decisions are made. The issue is whether there is transparency in the decisions taken by the government. How was the place chosen? Does the Municipality of Shengjin agree with this? After this successful tourist season, setting up a camp there is a penalty. How will they be compensated for the problems they will encounter along the way. The prime minister cannot decide this in an agreement. Despite the good deeds that may have taken the first 4 years, we must now ask where we are going with democracy. We are entering a dangerous zone for democracy. It may have the facade of electoral elections, but it also has electoral authoritarianism. The facade looks democratic, but decision-making soon becomes authoritarian ," he said.
