Kevi Muçllari, involved in the altercation with municipal councilor Engjëll Shyti in the Pogradec Municipal Council, spoke to the media after the incident.
He explained the conflict, which escalated from a verbal clash to a physical confrontation between the two. Muçllari stated that they will not leave this decision at that, but will pursue all legal avenues.
"As you saw yourself, there was a moment of tension because Engjëll Shyti, a councilor, stood up and threatened us because of what I said, a moment of irritation, tension. It is understood that after the decision was approved, we were totally against it.
The mayor said 'these are whims, this is untrue', until the moment when the situation was calm everything was rational, all the arguments that we presented and that we have presented repeatedly, are known and are very reasonable.
At these moments the mayor said that this is a whim and let's vote on it. From this moment there was also tension with the member of the municipal council. Surely the fact is that we are not going to leave this matter here. Even the councilors should be ashamed that they held this position from the beginning, and even those who changed it.
"I'm sorry, those who changed it should have faced this situation, changing their beliefs as well. This matter does not stop there, we will continue to follow all legal steps. This is unacceptable because the entire community is affected and we will fight because we have nothing to do ," he said.
After the approval of point 6 for "approval of the list of land areas of 34,660 ha in Çërrava that can be leased", there was a physical confrontation in the Pogradec Municipal Council. After numerous debates, the councilors approved this decision with 20 votes in favor, which has even led to an escalation to physical violence.
While following the residents' objections immediately after the decision was made, one of the councilors, Çngjëll Shyti, got up from the table and physically confronted Kevi Muçllari, one of the residents of Çërrava.
