One of the passengers who survived the serious bus accident at the entrance to Tirana has recounted the dramatic moments of the journey. She says she noticed unusual behavior from the driver shortly before the bus left the road and overturned.
Debora, who lives in the United States and had come to Albania for vacation, said she was headed to Tirana as she would be returning to the U.S. the next day. According to her, the driver's condition had caught her attention during the trip.
"On the way, I saw the driver making movements, spinning, it wasn't good. I was writing on the phone when the bus overturned," the survivor said.
She also confessed that the passengers on the left side of the bus suffered the most serious injuries, while she herself escaped unharmed as she was sitting on the right side.
"Those sitting on the left side of the vehicle received very serious injuries. I saw the driver die. The boy sitting behind him and a girl also received serious injuries. I was sitting on the right side and was not injured ," said Debora.
The full circumstances of the accident remain under investigation, as authorities work to determine the cause of the incident.
