The National Reconciliation Association "Benë", based in Tirana, has published a statement of support for the Iranian community of the People's Mujahedin of Iran, located in Camp Ashraf 3 in Manz, Durrës.
In the statement, the association emphasizes that it has had continuous contact with this community for years and considers its members to be "peace-loving and cultured people", committed to freedom and peace.
According to the document, the Iranian community living in Ashraf 3 has established good relations with the residents of the Manza area, while representatives of the association say they have been welcomed "warmly" during their visits to the camp.
The statement also mentions that the People's Mujahedeen of Iran have been in confrontation with the Iranian regime for decades and that many of them have suffered political imprisonment, torture and repression.
The "Benë" association accuses the Iranian regime of propaganda against this community in Albania, while expressing support for the organization's efforts towards "a free and democratic Iran."
The People's Mujahedin of Iran community has been settled in Albania for several years, after leaving Iraq, while Camp Ashraf 3 in Manz has often been at the center of political and diplomatic debate.

We declare our support for the presence of the People's Mujahedin of Iran residing in Durrës. We have been in contact with the Iranian community of the People's Mujahedin of Iran residing in Albania for a long time and we know them well.
Peace-loving and cultured people who have dedicated their entire lives to freedom and peace.
They live in the Ashraf 3 compound that they built at their own expense in Manz, and as a small community they have cordial and friendly relations with their neighbors, so much so that the residents of the Manz area consider the Ashraf 3 Mujahideen as part of their family.
The door of Ashraf 3 is always open to all the people of Albania. We have visited these dedicated Iranians several times and each time we have been warmly welcomed by the People's Mujahedin of Iran and have established a close friendship with them, which over time has developed mutual trust and feelings, and we have become acquainted with their suffering and sacrifices during their struggle against the dictatorship that rules Iran.
The religious regime that rules Iran is trying to damage its image in Albania by spending huge amounts of money and all kinds of propaganda, while the People's Mujahedin of Iran want democracy and freedom for the people of Iran. They are dedicated people who have faced two dictatorships, a royal dictatorship and a religious dictatorship, for 60 years. Nearly a thousand of them were political prisoners under the regime and were eyewitnesses to massacres, torture and other crimes, and are under the protection of human rights organizations.
We support the People's Mojahedin Organization and their efforts to achieve a free and democratic Iran.
