The Albanian government has decided the draft law proposal for the agreement between Albania and Italy in the field of social security, for consideration and approval in the Parliament.
About 550 thousand Albanians and 20 thousand Italians will benefit from the pension recognition agreement.
Likewise, the Meloni government has approved today the agreement on the recognition of the right to pensions with Albania.
In today's meeting, the Council of Ministers ratified the agreement reached on February 6, 2024 in Rome on social security between the two countries signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Meloni government has informed that it has drawn up a draft law on this agreement and that it will soon go to the Parliament to be approved in its two chambers.

THE PROPOSAL OF THE DRAFT LAW "FOR THE RATIFICATION OF THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA AND THE REPUBLIC OF ITALY IN THE FIELD OF SOCIAL INSURANCE"
In support of articles 81, point 1, and 100, of the Constitution, and article 17, of law no. 43/2016, "On international agreements in the Republic of Albania", with the proposal of the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, the Council of Ministers
DECIDE:
The proposal of the draft law "On the ratification of the agreement, between the Republic of Albania and the Republic of Italy in the field of social security", for review and approval in the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, for review and approval in the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, according to the text and the report , which are attached to this decision.
This decision takes effect immediately."
