As a sign of solidarity with Ukraine, on the second anniversary of the start of the war there, a demonstration was held in Tirana.
The Minister for Relations with the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, also spoke at this event, who declared that the world today is witnessing a new, unprecedented war.
She emphasized that Albania was among the first countries to join the will to impose sanctions against aggression and raised its voice in the Security Council.
"Three decades after the fall of communism, the violent dissolution of the former Soviet Union, another iron curtain has newly divided Europe. This time in Ukraine, where Russia has broken out a new, unjust and totally cruel war.
The new Iron Curtain is there, as the fantasy and horror of war is real. Death comes for a single fault, the victims belong to another nation, which has decided to live in a different way, looking westward and turning its back on the past.
We recognize this sacrifice of Ukraine and we bow to it. It is difficult to understand the drama and tragedy that is happening there", said Spiropali.
