The translator and writer Edmond Tupja raises the alarm about the danger of the disappearance of the Albanian language.
According to Tupe, this could be a consequence of globalization.
"Albanian is a much older language. Unbiased linguists have said it. Even in scientific journals it is said that 3-4 were the oldest languages, because it gives you the key to the Indo-European languages. It also helps you understand past languages that have disappeared. The Albanian language is much older, the third in the world for Indo-European languages, but to argue about this and forget where the Albanian language is going today?! Fight for origin, but the main thing is where are we going? Albanian words are dying. No one says "I was scared", "I was afraid" anymore, but "I was intimidated". There are many words in Albanian, words that are dying. We will become like Latin, no one will speak old Greek to us", he said.
According to Tupe, the problems also come from the difficulty of the language itself and its composition.
Above all, he says, both the inflections and the structure of the language are disappearing.
"Albanian is not an easy language, neither is German because of the inflections. But we are eliminating curves. We take and use words without inflection. How possible is wealth, old languages have the inflection. The most resistant peoples have this. Second, the structures of the Albanian language are disappearing. They started saying under the influence of English "This is not true". This is not true. Yes, it is not Albanian. Albanian says "This is untrue", "This is false". They throw them in the trash. What will happen to Albania? globalization is the disappearance of culture and customs.
