Since the beginning of 2019, when the standards for tinting vehicle windows were approved, and until April 2024, a total of 433,291 approvals and certifications for tinted windows have been registered.
According to the General Directorate of Road Transport Services (GDRTS), the certifications were carried out in accordance with legal and technical criteria, with materials approved by the manufacturer, installed by licensed services and equipped with documentation proving origin, billing and warranty.
Window tinting is not just an aesthetic choice, but offers several direct benefits to drivers.
It provides protection from ultraviolet and infrared rays, helps maintain coolness on hot days, offers more privacy, comfort and safety while driving, and helps maintain the condition of the car by protecting it from sun damage.
Also, regular window tinting improves vision by reducing the dazzling effect of other lights.
However, the law clearly stipulates restrictions on light transmission. The windshield is not allowed to be tinted, while the front side windows must allow at least 50% light transmission. For the windows of the second, third and end rows, a minimum transmission of 10% is allowed.
The use of strong colors or mirrored windows is prohibited. Vehicles that do not have an official certification for tinted windows will not pass technical inspection and are subject to punitive measures by the Traffic Police. /Ora News
