The big fire that engulfed the used clothes market in Shkodër yesterday afternoon is extinguished during the night.
The fire broke out around 18:55 in the "Ndoc Mazi" neighborhood, while the flames gradually spread, burning not only the 25 commercial units that were inside the market, but also five apartments near the area.
A resident of the area and two firefighters have shown problems as a result of the fire and are receiving medical help at the hospital, where they are in a stable condition.
On the ground to bring the flames under control were 21 fire engines from the Shkodra department, from Malësia e Madhe, Lezha, Ulqini and Tivari, 110 firefighters, 30 Shkodër Police officers, 20 officers from the FNSH department, 3 ambulances with personnel from the Shkodra Hospital, 110 employees of the Shkodra Municipality, 30 members of the Vau Deja Military Department and 1 army helicopter.
Material damage is estimated to be numerous, while fortunately there were no victims. It is suspected that the fire was started intentionally, but there is no official information yet.
