The member of the Accreditation Agency, Albana Dako, spoke about the laboratories that produce results in every corner of biochemistry without having the equipment and doctors licensed for this.
According to her, many of those who issue these analyzes are not licensed.
"Unfortunately, today they come out with the logo of 99% of clinics, which do not have histopathological laboratories licensed under their own name, but they take biopsies. So a clinic that does simple biochemical examinations and has a chemical laboratory, cannot issue under its own logo, even a pap test", said Albana Dako, member of the Accreditation Agency.
But why can't a lab that performs blood tests on patients perform biopsies or Pap tests?
"The biopsy laboratory, or as it is called within a health institution, the histopathology laboratory, is a very specific laboratory, which firstly requires a pathologist, but secondly and most importantly, it requires a series of very detailed infrastructures to go to biopsy, that is, to go biopsy to the eye of the doctor. This starts from the pap test to the more complicated biopsies or even immunohistochemistry. These are only 3-4 to my knowledge, maybe even less, histopathological laboratories in Albania that fulfill all these conditions that I said", Daka told TCH.
The health inspectorate, which must screen all medical laboratories to see if they fulfill the parameters they declare when they are licensed by QQKR, has never made a public violation when, in fact, the name of a doctor results in nearly 10 laboratories, which which is impossible.
