A serious scandal with direct implications for food safety in the country has come to light through a public denunciation by an Albanian citizen. The denunciation published in the editorial office of JOQ Albania speaks of a product of the company HAKO, specifically a packaged sausage, purchased in a supermarket and stored in the refrigerator, which after a week has resulted in unacceptable and worrying composition for human consumption.
The citizen says that when he opened the product to serve it to the family table, he was faced with a strange white mass on the surface, similar to plant buds. He emphasizes that the product was still within the expiration date and stored under the correct conditions, but what he found inside was anything but a product worthy of consumption.
The pamphlet had to verify with food safety sources, who explained that such a reaction could be the result of a distorted fermentation process, internal contamination, or a total lack of sterility in the production line. In any case, it is a risk to the health of the citizen and a direct violation of the standards allowed in meat processing.
The scandal is made even more serious by the fact that neither the HAKO company, nor the National Food Authority (AKU), have reacted with a public statement or immediate measures for investigation. The institutions that should protect the citizen, as always, are asleep or at the service of those who "should not be touched."
The 2 ''scammers'' Antoneta Hako and Adnand Hako, have benefited from 4.6 hectares of public land in Tepelena with a decision signed by the former mayor of the municipality Tërmet Peçi (now turned into a pink character), for the construction of a private resort. In the same area, the water source of the village of Mezhgoran has also been taken, while the residents have been left without a regular supply. No transparency in the procedures, no hearing with the community, no public accountability from the beneficiaries.
This company cannot operate in the market with questionable standards and be rewarded with state property. When there is a direct denunciation of food safety, it is a legal and ethical obligation to provide clarification and for institutions to intervene. The silence of Antonela and Adnan Hako, faced with a situation that affects public health and the interest of the community, is a clear indicator of the lack of responsibility and a system that protects them. /Pamphlet
