The National Agency of Civil Protection informed today, referring to the forecast by the experts of the Institute of Geosciences, that tomorrow, Saturday January 20, occasional rainfall is expected in most of the country, while it has also published the map with the affected areas.
Along the Western Lowlands and in urban areas, precipitation will be in the form of thunderstorms and lightning storms. Torrential and high intensity rainfall for short moments can create various problems as well as flooding in urban areas depending on the sewerage system in all districts.
"The amount of precipitation is expected to be intense to locally very intense in the district of Elbasan. In other districts of the country, intense and moderate to locally intense precipitation is expected. In the North, East and Southeast at heights above 300 m above sea level, the precipitation will to be in the form of snow", announces the civil defense.
Rainfall of low to moderate intensity is expected in other districts, while on January 21 the cessation of rain is expected and there will be snowfall of low intensity in the Alps and in the mountain reliefs in the north-northeast and southeast, where strong frosts are expected along road axes, mainly in mountainous areas.
