Mobile phones remain key evidence in the investigations of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime. According to data from the SPAK report, over 1,700 mobile phones and tablets have been analyzed in the expertise laboratories over the last four years.
During 2025 alone, 372 expert decisions have arrived for analysis at the Expertise Sector, including 615 pieces of digital evidence, including 503 mobile phones and tablets, 98 computers, 14 DVRs and 153 other digital devices such as hard drives, USBs and memory cards.
Even in previous years, the number of devices seized and analyzed has been high. In 2024, SPAK sent 553 mobile phones and tablets for expertise, while in 2023, 407 mobile phones were analyzed. The year before, in 2022, 328 mobile phones were sent to the expertise laboratories.
In total, for the period 2022–2025, 1,791 mobile phones and tablets were analyzed in SPAK laboratories, confirming the key role that digital communications play in investigations into corruption and organized crime.
In addition to the phones, investigators have also analyzed hundreds of other digital devices, including 343 computers, dozens of DVRs and hundreds of storage devices such as USB sticks and hard drives, which often contain financial documents, communications and data important to investigations.
According to the report, the expansion of the capacities of SPAK and BKH digital laboratories has made it possible to analyze an increasingly large volume of electronic evidence, which is becoming a key element in uncovering corruption and organized crime files. / Pamphlet
