The "Media and Justice" association has strongly condemned the threat against the owner of MCN television, Endri Meksi, who was confronted by masked and armed individuals near the television premises in Tirana.
In its public reaction, the association describes the event as a serious and unacceptable act, emphasizing that such threats do not only affect an individual, but also media freedom and the safety of journalists.
According to the statement, the presence of armed individuals near a media institution constitutes an attempt to intimidate the media and exert pressure on free speech.
The "Media and Justice" Association calls on the State Police, the Prosecutor's Office and other law enforcement institutions to react with urgency and transparency to fully clarify the incident, identifying the perpetrators and any person who may be involved in this act.

The "Media and Justice" Association condemns in the strongest terms the serious act of threat against the owner of MCN television, Mr. Endri Meksi, by masked and armed individuals near the television premises in Tirana.
This is a bandit, unacceptable act and a direct blow not only to an individual, but to media freedom, the safety of journalists and the democratic order in the country itself. When weapons and masks appear at the door of a television station, we are no longer dealing with just a personal threat, but with a clear attempt to intimidate the media and silence free speech.
We call on the State Police, the Prosecutor's Office and all law enforcement institutions to react with urgency, professionalism and full transparency. The perpetrators, as well as the possible instigators of this criminal act, must be identified and brought to justice without delay.
Silence, relativization or delay in shedding light on this event would be a dangerous message for the climate of media freedom in Albania. No media outlet, no publisher and no journalist should live under the terror of gangs, criminal pressure or threats with weapons.
The "Media and Justice" Association expresses its full solidarity with Mr. Endri Meksi, with the staff of MCN television and with every media employee facing pressure, intimidation or threat.
Violating the media is a violation of democracy.
The threat to free speech is a threat to all of society.
