BKH agents landed in the city of Vlora at noon on Wednesday around 12:30, with the aim of checking the apartment of the former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj.
They waited three hours after asking for the key to the apartment, but no one showed up. After three hours, around 15:30, they called the fire service with the intention of opening the apartment by force.
Sources from the investigation group indicate that no suspicious items were found in the apartment except for a few bottles of wine. Even though there was a reaction from Beqaj's lawyer about the facility that is not owned by Ilir Beqaj, SPAK agents carried out the inspection.
According to the information, in the previous checks, photos of the object with the same furnishings were found in Beqaj's belongings.
Meanwhile, after checking the apartment until the afternoon (18:00), the agents checked several garages in the building. The collected information suggests that the former minister parked a car right in that palace. A source said that during the inspections of the former minister's properties, a vehicle was not found, therefore, the garages of the palace are also being searched.
Beqaj was arrested at the beginning of July by order of SPAK, as it is suspected that through trusted people, one of whom is Ermal Kurtulaj, head of the Eusair project, at the SASPAK Agency, they have benefited from large sums of money by issuing fictitious invoices for services unfinished business issued by various businesses in Tirana.
The former Minister of Health is accused of "Passive corruption of high state officials", "Refusal to declare, non-declaration, concealment or false declaration of assets, private interests of elected persons and public servants or any other person who has the obligation legal declaration", "Violation of the equality of participants in public tenders or auctions", as well as "Fraud".
Two days ago, on July 22, the former Minister of Health, Ilir Beqaj, complained in the appeal of GJKKO, the security measure of arrest and imprisonment, arguing that there is no risk of him leaving the country or spoiling the evidence.
