The family of Aleks Nika, who was killed on January 21, requested that the case go to SPAK and investigate former Prime Minister Sali Berisha at the time and former minister Lulzim Basha.
Mark Nika, Alex Nika's uncle, in a direct link to "Tirana Live" has emphasized that they no longer trust the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, and demand that the January 21 case be transferred to SPAK.
"We filed a lawsuit in SPAK where we accused the former prime minister of that time of making the decision to kill the demonstrators. The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana took the case under investigation and then the high court changed the charge and decided it was manslaughter. Circumstances and data from the FBI show that the murder was done on purpose," said Nika's uncle.
Among other things, he emphasized that they have a tape which has filmed the entire scenario of the event and that according to him, in this recording you can clearly hear how the former leaders of that time claim that they killed them, but it is a proof that they will submit only to SPAK.
"Not only has it been accepted that the crime was committed by them, but all the circumstances lead us in this direction. The whole scenario has been realized and the description has been drawn up, we have a tape recorded with all this and we will hand it over to SPAK as the prosecutor's office in Tirana has shown itself to be very one-sided. I don't know why the prosecution did not call the former minister of the interior when it is heard that he said that they were killed. There are facts everywhere and most of the facts that prove this state crime are universally known and prove that this is a deliberate crime.
We tried in the Court of Serious Crimes, but they rejected our request for SPAK to investigate the case, but they did not accept it, but we made an appeal in Appeal and requested that the case be transferred to SPAK. We will also hand over to SPAK the tape that recorded the scenario of how the murder happened. All this is the responsibility of the state since for 13 years it has not taken any step to shed light in this direction. In the state it is in today, when SPAK refuses without reason, it means that it is one-sided. The former Prime Minister and the former Minister of the Interior are implicated there, but they do not accept this and when it comes to the accusations against these persons, we have silence from the prosecution. How is it possible that for 13 years the former prime minister is not called, the former minister of the interior Basha is not called, who says that they have been killed, why is the former president Bamir Topi not called, who knows about the incident?he said.
He also stated that the socialist government is also responsible for this, as according to him it should have investigated more.
"I have faith in the Criminal College of the Supreme Court as I believe that considering all these properties, it will force SPAK, which is unstable, to deal with our case. There are court prosecutors appointed by Berisha who still fear him, but the socialist government has its own responsibility in this matter as it should investigate more. The Tirana police at that time neglected it and many properties were destroyed under the supervision of the government", said Nika's uncle, emphasizing that it is a pity how innocent people were killed in the streets by a democratic state.
