Former prosecutor Eugen Beci said that SPAK should investigate the cases of corrupt officials who try to avoid arrest or imprisonment by fabricating serious illnesses with falsified reports.
He states that medical practices should be part of the investigation, in this way the doctors are also held accountable for not giving an alibi to the corrupt.
"These medical practices should sometimes become the subject of SPAK investigations so that they are not abused and doctors are more responsible. However, the judicial practice of the Supreme Court has resolved this phenomenon with strict procedures of a medical-legal examination, in order to accurately determine the state of health of the arrested person and whether or not to keep him in prison is evaluated by an expert", said Beci.
The ex-prosecutor also sees the problem in favoring the corrupt from the prison system, which is part of the executive and the majority in government.
"Most of the arrested officials come out sick, maybe due to the fact that the Directorate of Prisons is part of the executive and the majority takes its members under their "armpit", since there is no way to help them more. But there is another reason. Since prisons often do not provide specific conditions for an arrested official, these artifacts are found with diseases", he said for "Panorama TV".
