Analyst Skënder Minxozhi has commented on recent political developments and the protests organized by the Democratic Party.
He stated that the opposition does not enjoy broad popular support in the rallies it is holding. Minxozhi also stated that the DP leader has been influenced by developments in other countries in the region where protests have had massive participation.
"Berisha apparently has a fixed idea, looking at other countries in the region where governments are really facing massive pressure. Men, women, children all on the streets for problems that are also on the agenda in Albania. But here there are no people and it is completely unproductive to say that all the people will come out to the square and you are forced to move them from protest to the podium because there are really no people ," Minxozhi told "Abc News".
He also said that participation in Berisha's rallies is limited and adds that this fact has forced the opposition to change the way it organizes protests.
"He knows that there are a few hundred people who can follow for more than an hour because the rest run away. So he needs to bring people from Cologne and Saranda because Tirana has no people. And in these conditions, he has made a solution designed for the international media. So a pyrotechnic spectacle is done with a few people and you can make the event for the international media. They have made a directorial choice so that it looks like a lot. So this is the solution in conditions where the opposition is not getting a boost even from the investigations that SPAK is conducting," the analyst declared.
