Medical students are once again continuing their protest against the law that forces them to work for 5 years in Albania after completing their studies. They have boycotted the new academic year since its start.
Dressed in white uniforms, with placards with calls against the decision that forces them to work for 5 years after finishing university, the medical students gathered again in front of the Ministry of Education and threw toilet paper towards it.
"The minister has not resigned yet. Shame, shame shame! The minister of shame", say the students in unison, while they put up banners like 'We are not taking our lessons, to teach you one' or 'In my country in your country, a crazy law makes everyone crazy'.
They also do not accept the study fee of 240,000 lek, which was approved two days ago by the board of administration. Any medical student who does not fulfill the legal obligation, to provide health service from 3 to 5 years in his country, will have to pay a fee of 240 thousand new lek for each year of study. If one year of study costs 240,000 ALL, for 6 years students must pay 1,440,000 ALL.
The protest of the medical students was moved this morning in front of the Ministry of Education, where they started throwing eggs at it. Many police forces are present at this protest and the traffic of vehicles in this area of the capital is blocked.
