Analyst Ergys Mërtiri said that the seizure of Jamarbë Malltez's villas and assets shows that things are serious in this matter.
In an interview for "Euronews Albania", he said that he continues to be skeptical about the way justice works in Albania and added that he does not believe that there are institutions that have not been captured, but this justice is far from what was previously hoped for, as previously according to he could not even imagine that criminal charges would be filed against former Prime Minister Berisha, or that his son-in-law would be arrested.
According to Mërtiri, SPAK's investigation should go much deeper into this matter, since, he added, "many people are waiting in line".
" The seizure of villas and assets shows that there is something serious here, it is not just something to wash the mouth. I believe this will go deep. I have my skepticism though. I do not believe that the investigation goes to the end, that if it went to the end, it would go even higher.
Anyway, I say that this type of justice is really short-lived, it is still not the right one, it is far from what we would all like to be, but it is very far from what we could not even realize.
We could not imagine that a justice could face criminal charges against Mr. Berisha, arrest his son-in-law, and seize assets. This scheme today is an example of a show that has confused many other people who are probably waiting for their turn. SPAK has problems, I don't think that here we don't have uncaught institutions, but we should hope that the one who is the least thief in this country will catch them ", said Ergys Mërtiri.
