Journalist Ferdinand Dervishi spoke about the "21 January" murders on the boulevard. He said that the murders will now be investigated by the prosecutors of the Special Prosecutor's Office.
The head of SPAK declared yesterday in a conversation with journalists that he will start investigations once the decision of the Supreme Court is clarified. On the basis of this decision, an investigation is required for Berisha, Basha and Ndrea Prendi for their role as the commanders of "January 21".
For journalist Ferdinand Dervishi, the fact that the file after more than 13 years is in the hands of SPAK is the merit of the victims' families. He said the Special Prosecutor's Office should investigate from former Prime Minister Berisha to the former head of the Guard. Dervishi added that SPAK should find out who deleted the servers and why the prosecution was pressured for malfeasance and intimidation.
"It is not the merit of the justice structures of the Albanian state, but the merit of Aleks Nika's family members who took the file to Strasbourg. Let no one brag about this. Let's not forget that SPAK has the role of investigating Berisha, former prime minister, Lulzim Basha, former interior minister and former head of the Guard. Since SPAK opened this file, it will also investigate the other persons involved. From Sali Berisha to the last to go to the end of the investigation. Can someone repent to show why the servers were deleted, why pressure was put on the prosecutor's office for intimidation and abuse, why the police did not implement the orders to arrest the guards. It's a big story that needs its own time, but SPAK will succeed", said Dervishi for Report TV.
On November 14, 2023, the Strasbourg Court ordered the release of those really responsible, those who ordered the guard to open fire on the crowd of protesters. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court accepted the family members' request that the file be investigated by SPAK.
