
The American Embassy has reacted after the meeting that the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken held with the heads of justice, as he also shared the message to the head of SPAK where he stated that the time has come for the 'untouchables' to strike.
The American Embassy in Tirana, in the framework of the conclusion of Secretary Blinken's visit to Tirana, has expressed the support of the USA for the reform in justice.
Through a message on the official website, the Embassy writes that although the reform is neither fast, nor perfect, nor easy, this is the moment for the new institutions of justice to take courage and punish the "big fish", encouraging thus the public's trust in the rule of law.
According to the US Embassy, US support is unwavering.
"Secretary Blinken reiterated the consistent commitment of the United States to judicial reform in Albania during a meeting with the heads of justice today.
Although reform is neither quick, nor perfect, nor easy, this is the moment for new justice institutions to brave impunity and foster public confidence in the rule of law. These challenges are great, but the United States stands firmly behind these institutions and will remain steadfast in our support," the message says.
It is worth noting that, on his first visit to Tirana, Blinken held a special meeting with the heads of justice institutions in the country, to encourage them and show support for the work they do.
We remind you that the head of SPAK Altin Dumani, the president of the constitutional court Holta Zaçaj, the president of the Supreme Court Sokol Sadushi, as well as the High Inspector of Justice Artur Metani participated in the meeting that took place yesterday at Piramida in Tirana.
Blinken paid a visit to Tirana yesterday, February 15, where he focused the most important messages on the justice reform when he said that it is giving results and should continue, while he praised the international role of Albania as a valuable global ally of the USA -ve.
