The spokesperson of the Lulzim Basha group, Mirela Karabina, in a statement to the media spoke about the results of the 2023 Census.
According to her, the publication of data 7 months late raises doubts about the authenticity of the Census data for 2023.
Karabina says the youth leave because of bad governance and lack of hope.
"Galloping corruption in every tissue of the state is the cause of the country's depopulation. Census 2023 data show the country's unstoppable depopulation, despite the many efforts of the government of Edi Rama to show the opposite. Nearly half a million Albanians have left the country in these 12 years, the average age of the population has increased by 7 years, this is an indicator of the aging of the population, the export of the active population abroad and the solidification of that inside the country in vacant buildings, this is evidenced by the Census 2023 data.
During these 12 years, about 40 thousand people or almost 1.5% of the resident population have left Albania every year.
Alarming rates of depopulation, while we are neither in a period of war nor of any natural disaster, but we are in the most corrupt regime of Edi Rama, who continues to violently expel the hopeless Albanians from the country.
Although Census 2023 has cost 20 million euros, with a team of 7 thousand trained employees and the use of high technology, the release of preliminary data is 7 months late, and for only 2.4 million inhabitants.
The delay in releasing the data casts doubt on their reliability and this is the direct responsibility of the Albanian government and state institutions. While the government through propaganda presents a different Albania of 10 million tourists, the real Albania is that of 420 thousand fewer inhabitants, with a decrease of 13.8% compared to the 2011 Census. And with the natural addition, the number of displaced residents reaches 490 thousand.
The real Albania is that of the abandonment of the suburbs and the shrinking of the cities, the overpopulation of Tirana and in 1 million apartments, about 40% of them are empty. The real Albania is the one that, despite the depopulation, the construction sector has been involved in rapid developments in recent years, making there is one apartment for every 2.2 inhabitants. This is the real Albania that Edi Rama is looking for and has covered with dangerous propaganda at the expense of the lives of the citizens and the development of the country!
On the one hand, an active population, especially the youth, who leave due to bad governance and lack of hope and as a vital part directly affects the slowing down of the country's development and its aging, and on the other hand, a population hardened in empty apartments and abandoned or new buildings left stock, built through money laundering from dubious sources.
Albanian citizens do not deserve the corrupt and anti-national government of Edi Rama. Young people deserve education, employment and a good and dignified life in their country. Our alternative for a non-corrupt government with a focus on citizens and development, saves the country and puts it on the normal track. Albanians deserve more! Albania deserves more!", said Karabina.
