Other troubles seem to have opened for the businessman from Durrës, Gëzim Sallaku, accused of criminal activity in Italy.
The Italian media write today that in implementation of a provision of the Ordinary Court of Brescia, they have announced the implementation of the measure of personal prevention of the special security of public supervision for a duration of 5 years with the obligation to reside in the municipality of the current residence as well as the measure simultaneous preventive asset confiscation of movable and immovable assets, company shares and company assets with a total value of over 4.5 million euros.
"In particular, the preventive confiscation was ordered after complex investigations of an economic and property nature coordinated by the District Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Brescia and followed by Fiamme Gialle - informs the Financial Police - which revealed a clear disproportion between the standard of living of the proposed person (and his entire family unit) and the income declared by him to the tax authorities, in the period of assessing the riskiness of the person affected by the above-mentioned provision of a personal and property nature", the authorities clarify Italian.
Assets subject to divestment, i.e. purchase by the state, include a villa of considerable value, plus entrepreneurial activities operating in the luxury hotel, construction and real estate sectors. The provision in question has been issued based on the evidence currently obtained, pending the finality of the judgment.
A few months ago, several of his confessions were seized by the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, at the request of the Italian authorities.
Sallaku is charged with the criminal offense of "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity". At the request of the Court of Brescia in Italy, two objects, two properties and two objects declared for legalization are seized. The properties are in the name of Sallak and his family members.
- Apartment-type real estate with an area of 48.8 m2 in the name of GS and SH;
– Apartment-type real estate with an area of 330 m2, registered in the name of GS and SH;
– Real estate of the arable type, with an area of 12,710 m2, purchased by GS;
– Real estate of the arable type, with an area of 7,890 m2, in the name of the citizen AL, purchased by GS;
– Real estate declared for legalization in the name of citizen GS, 3-storey building, with a construction area of 140 m2, built on a plot of 300 m2;
- Real estate declared for legalization, in the name of SS citizen, 2-story building, with construction area of 140 m2, built on a land area of 500 m2.
Since 2014, the Durrës Prosecutor's Office has registered a criminal proceeding, restarted in 2018, for the criminal offense of "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity". In the framework of this proceeding, with the decision of 2021, it was decided to assign the property insurance measure "Preventive Sequestration", for the assets of the citizen G. Sallaku, who was taken as a defendant and this year was sent for trial.
