Interior Minister Taulant Balla has reacted regarding the mega-operation 'Tempulli 2', where drug distribution groups were hit. About 270 people were arrested as part of the 'Temple 2' operation.
Balla said that during this operation they seized a large amount of narcotics and a number of illegal weapons.
"We managed to realize a second phase of the Temple. There are some successes, it was a big operation on a national scale, the first success is related to the fact that we didn't have any leakage of information. The orders issued have been carried out successfully. We agree with all residents that we need to increase our presence in the territory for safe schools. The amount of narcotics is also very large compared to expectations. Even during this operation, we have a number of weapons seized without permission", Balla said in a statement to the media.
Among other things, Balla said that the new Penal Code, which is being drafted, will be put up for public discussion and that part of it will also include legal facilities for people who hand over weapons without permission voluntarily.
