Another member of the Socialist Party has ended up behind bars.
A little while ago, handcuffs were put on the former deputy Jurgis Çyrbja, who was taken earlier as a defendant by SPAK.
He is accused of abuse of office and as soon as the accusations were communicated to you, he resigned as a deputy. But this weekend, SPAK requested security measures against him and the court approved the isolation in the cell.
After her order, the police moved in and reportedly arrested the former member of parliament from Durrës. His arrest was made in Durrës, while Çyrbja was traveling in a car with his driver. It is learned that several other people have been arrested in Durrës, along with him.
It is suspected that he was arrested for his ties to criminal groups and 3 charges have been filed against him.
Earlier, Çyrbja was charged because he was accused by the deputy of the Democratic Party, Edi Paloka, that, during the time when he was the director of Mortgage in Durrës, he wasted his duty. According to Paloka's denunciation, the socialist deputy signed two certificates for the same property within the same day, but in two different names, realizing "property overlap".
Likewise, Paloka claimed that in the last weeks of the campaign in 2021, Çyrbja distributed certificates and legalizations in the Cadastre of Durrës, as if he was still the director of Mortgage. But SPAK has deepened the investigations and found other violations.
Çyrbja was ending his second term as a deputy. He was elected for the first time in 2017. In 2021, he was the third most voted in Durrës district among 6583 votes.
