The Special Anticorruption Court has given SPAK 3 months to investigate the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko, in relation to the microcredit scandal.
The Court of Tirana delegated it to the Special Court, expressing incompetence for dismissing the case.
The Special Prosecutor's Office submitted to the GJKKO the request to dismiss the report against Sejko, while the latter called it invalid.

Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime on 11.06.2024, No. Reg. Them 90, has submitted to the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime the criminal request with the object: It is requested to dismiss the criminal case no. 1360/2022 registered for the criminal offense of "Abuse of duty" provided by article 248 of the Penal Code, as the fact is not provided by law as a criminal offense.
2. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with a panel composed of judge Flora Hajredinaj, based on articles 112, 75/a; 128, 128/a, point 1, letter "b", 131/2, 332/be following the Code of Criminal Procedure and law no. 95 dated 06.10.2016 "On the organization and function of institutions to fight Organized Crime", with decision No. 90, dated 10.07.2024, decided:
1. The declaration of the absolute invalidity of the act "Request for dismissal of criminal proceedings no. 1360, of 2022 of the Prosecutor, of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, Tirana, which has as its object the investigation of the criminal offense "Employment of duty" to the accused Gent Sejko, Governor of the Bank of Albania.
2. The return of the acts of criminal proceedings no. 1360/2022 of the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Tirana, for the further continuation of the investigations, to prosecutor Dorina Bejko, in the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime.
3. The investigative actions ordered in the reasoning part of this decision must be carried out within 3 (three) months.
4. Appointment of the preliminary court session on 16.10.2024, Wednesday, 10:00.
5. The court secretariat is ordered to notify the head of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime of the decision.
6. An appeal against the decision is allowed to the Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime within the legal term.
