Former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji appeared at the Probation Service this morning as part of his conditional release.
It is learned that Salianji was accompanied by his lawyer, Ledio Braho.
Salianji was released from prison on July 8, after the Fier Court accepted his request for conditional release, after serving 9 and a half months of a 1-year prison sentence last September. The probation service had filed a positive report on Salianji's behavior, as had the Fier Prison before.
With the 1-year prison sentence, Ervin Salianji lost his mandate as a member of the Albanian Parliament, where he had been elected in the 2017 and 2021 elections for 2 legislatures.
According to the decriminalization law, he cannot be elected to public office for at least 5 years after the end of his sentence, that is, until 2030 when he is considered rehabilitated.
