Two days after SPAK indicted him on charges of 'passive corruption' and 'money laundering', today (September 13) Sali Berisha's son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi, appeared at the GJKKO Appeal.
It is learned that the session is taking place after Malltezi has requested a replacement of the security measure. Also, Sali Berisha, under 'house arrest', requested a change in the security measures.
For Malltez, the accusations of "Passive corruption of high officials or local elected officials" and "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity" in connection with the privatization of the former Sportiv Partizani club are aggravated.
Both Berisha and Malltezi have opposed the accusations and described the investigation as orchestrated by Prime Minister Edi Rama. Also, Berisha and his supporters have described this measure as an attempt to annihilate the opposition.
