BKH agents landed in the Dibra Region as part of an investigation into electoral crimes. The operation took place in the Klos Municipality, where it is suspected that officials from this unit, as well as other public institutions, were involved in a vote-buying scheme or voter intimidation, including through pressure.
The investigation also includes local police officers, whose role is being verified.
Reports indicate that by order of SPAK and a decision of the GJKKO, the mobile phones of 3 directors of the Municipality, including the legal and social services directors, were seized, OraNews reports.
Computer equipment was also seized, and a series of vehicles were searched. The operation, according to reports, is related to wiretaps conducted during the campaign, where it appears that SPAK and BKH agents have sufficient evidence to launch investigations.
In the Dibra Region, the SP won 3 mandates out of a possible 5, while two mandates were won by the DP. The SP's political leader for Dibra was Blendi Klosi, who before May 11 set the objective of winning 4 mandates. Meanwhile, the DP's political leader was Xhelal Mziu, who also claimed that this party and its allies would win at least 3 mandates.
The campaign in Debar recorded several incidents and clashes, while the opposition claimed that in at least two cases, vehicles carrying large sums of money that were to be used to buy votes were blocked.
There has been no official announcement regarding the SPAK operation in the Dibra region, while it is reported that other checks on officials are expected throughout the region.
