Analyst Denis Dyrnjaja said that the Democratic Party's defeat in the May 11 parliamentary elections was expected by everyone. According to him, the strategy followed by Berisha centered on creating a parliamentary group with loyal deputies, so that he could later use them as a shield in facing justice.
"It was known that the DP would lose in the way it decided to present a defensive team, not an offensive team. With the contingent that entered, it was a defensive team, if we can call it defensive. I actually call it like Berisha's shop that took into the shop only those people that it needed to take and for the next four years gave them a mandate to be deputies in parliament, for the completely personal interests of Berisha and them together," Dyrnjaja told "Report TV".
He stated that Berisha should have tested the "old" political figures of the Democratic Party, who still lead the dome of this political force, on an open list.
"The most typical case is the appearance of Mrs. Tabaku and Mr. Alimehmeti, who were people's favorites and imagine at a moment that it was a competition with an open list of the Democratic Party, there would be values. This had to be done so that we could truly understand what the value of Flamur Noka, Edi Paloka, Albana Vokshi, Tritan Shehu and all the others is. Being on a secure list, we do not know what their specific weight is, we do not know how many votes they have, because if they have been voted for, we should say sorry to them and continue, we should encourage them" , he said.
"Does Sali Berisha know how many votes he received in 2021 because he was on a closed list? 3600. Sali Berisha received 3600 votes. Even for the sake of appearance, to give a kind of political charge, he should have received more, even though Lulzim Basha was the leader. In fact, those were the best elections for the DP, among its losses ," Dyrnjaja added.
