The Chairman of the Republican Party, Fatmir Mediu, found in the US the Democratic Party's campaign strategist, Chris Lacivita, who had "disappeared" and had not been active since the day he was pompously introduced by Sali Berisha and his "magnificent" allies.
With two fingers up, Lacivita said he would come to Tirana very soon, but can he change the fate of the DP, a party that is in a terrible decline in the polls against the Socialists?
Journalist Ardit Rada, invited to "Ora e Fundit", stated that Mediu should first face justice for the Gërdec tragedy here in Albania and not play the role of the DP ambassador to the US.
He emphasized that the DP is known for lobbying contracts with questionable money, while adding that even in the case of LaCivita, this can exist as long as the contract made with the "strategist" is not necessary.
"Fatmir Mediu must first understand that he is not the DP ambassador in America and as long as he is under investigation for a tragic event, a few meters away from the capital, he must first serve justice and stay here. I do not believe that LaCivita will vote or collect votes for the DP on May 11. For us Albanians and citizens, we first need transparency in the contract he has with the opposition. We are dealing with a person who, through the contract, also aims for a big bag of money. The DP is known for dubious financing, whether in the local media, in elections or for lobbying," he said.
He emphasized that the return of the American OPDAT experts to SPAK is good news for justice and also a blow to Sali Berisha.
"The news that OPDAT experts have returned to the reformed justice bodies is good news, after there were fireworks from the DP, that the US left SPAK. For Berisha personally, it is bad news," he said.
