Journalist Klodiana Lala has provided details regarding the role and influence of businessman Ergys Agasi, linking him to a wide network of activities that, according to her, include state institutions and major financial affairs.
She emphasized that this is one of the most sensitive current issues, also mentioning connections to other people under investigation, including Ermal Beqiri.
"I think that the AKSHI affair, and that of Balluk, or the Vlora airport, I do not believe that they were done without Rama's blessing. As for the apartment where Karcanaj lives, it is believed that it was bought on purpose for him. They are involved subordinates of Ermal Beqiri, who is on the run. They are Ergys Agas's assets, which in total are worth 40 million euros. I will also tell the story of the wine, which goes up to 11 million euros in value. It includes expensive wine and drinks that they drank. There is even another scandal, where Ergys Agas has an apartment inside the government villa in Durres. Invoices were found there and it turned out that only 11 million euros of expensive wine was spent," Lala said for "News 24".
The journalist continued with strong accusations about the way this network operates and its influence on decision-making.
"To some extent, what former/deputy prime minister Ahmetaj said is proven. I have always said that this file can burn many people in all dimensions. Ergys Agasi, not only determined the tenders, but what impresses you is the fact that he built without permission and legalized them in violation of the law, within Equos Resort. He has attempted to privatize state property. He has managed to extend his influence in IKMT, in the Police, Cadastre and all that , "the journalist added.
According to her, financial power and network of connections have allowed Agasi to exercise considerable control over several links in the state.
"Agas is considered a coordinator of the wild world with Mr. Rama. He had power and financial capacity. It is enough to just look at the list, I could not finish looking at the assets, land areas, legalizations made within a day. Albanian citizens wait for months and years to make legalizations, Agasi has legalized large areas of land within the same day. This shows control of certain segments of state institutions", she emphasized.
She also mentioned other serious elements related to this file.
"He was suspected of kidnapping Gerond Meçe. He was the main person who held the tenders' key. SPAK believes that there were other businessmen who were blackmailed. There is an Albanian-German who was blackmailed. She has accepted and was given a meeting with Mrs. Karçanaj. There was a meeting with Ermal Beqiri, in a luxury hotel and there she was told that she was in a shark pool and she gave the 'fine'. SPAK must provide more details, but this is a matter still under investigation," she said.
