The anesthesiologist-cardiologist Roland Xhaxho has reacted again regarding the death of the 3-year-old after the intervention in his private clinic in Tirana.
In an interview for the show "Top Story", the doctor stated that considering the child's health condition, he signed a consensus with the parents before the operation. According to him, the child added that the child left the clinic in his father's arms, after 4 hours of surgery.
"I would like to express my condolences, I have considered it the same as my grandchildren, I have been an anesthesiologist for more than 40 years, my job has been to save lives, since there have been many abuses, I am coming out that I want to make known as it happend. General anesthesia intervened, I signed a consensus with the parents. The question is why it was chosen, the child was born with a heart defect, the recommendation is to identify any source of infection in these children, these with recommendations were sent to our hospital, there were infections that absolutely had to be avoided in one session, we we use intravenous antibiotics to protect it. I am the oldest anesthetist who performed an anesthesia in children, the procedure was according to international methods. We have treated over 2000 children. He left the clinic awake, it lasted 4 hours, 4 hours or less.", said the doctor.
