Journalist Artan Hoxha spoke about Erion Veliaj's appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding his dismissal from office.
Hoxha recalled the case of the mayor of Vora, Agim Kajmaku, who, despite being removed, won the case and received 500 thousand euros in damages.
He stressed that the decision to dismiss Veliaj was political and according to him it is surprising that the lawyers of the three institutions did not say a word. However, the journalist adds that the biggest surprise in this matter is the Presidency.
"It was not in vain that I brought the example of Kajmak of Vora, who, with a decision of the Administrative Court, received 44 salaries. At a minimum, he received half a million euros. This case is similar to Veliaj's today. Kajmak's mandate was terminated by the CEC and not by the Council of Ministers. For Veliaj, it was a political decision in record time. The lawyers of the three institutions, the Municipality of Tirana, the Prefecture and the Prime Minister's Office, did nothing in the meantime.
"Fortunately, the Constitutional Court judge quickly took the case for review by Veliaj. The only thing that surprised me is the Presidency, which has not expressed itself at all. We will wait to see if it expresses itself, it may pass it over in silence, but it may decree elections ," he told "News 24".
