The Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla has spoken about the suicide of the Deputy Commissioner, Arben Pjeçi after his suspension from office and expressed his condolences to his family.
Balla said that both the General Director of Police and the AMP are conducting their own verifications of the incident.
The minister said that the deputy commissioner had not complained about the decision given to him and that the State Police was obliged to implement a court decision.
"From that first moment, together with the General Director, we have done all our verifications, both as a colleague and as a citizen, as to who are the reasons that led to that decision. To be honest, it did not give us the opportunity to consider a complaint from him, either because the State Police was obliged to implement a court decision. But we need a greater care and a more open and friendlier communication with every police officer at all levels to actually understand other problems, which are probably not related to the work of the police, and a different approach to the service with a psychologist", said Balla.
From Durrës, where he held a meeting with police officials, Balla said that police officers are those who never have a schedule and the minister will provide a solution to the issue of their payments.
