The former secretary for Legal Affairs in DP, Indrit Sefa, said that Ilir Beqja is accused of serious criminal offenses for which he can be punished from 4 to 15 years.
Invited to the "Review" show on "Euronews Albania", Sefa said that the former Minister of Health is accused of active corruption of officials, fraud and concealment of wealth.
He added that Beqja was under surveillance since September 6, 2023, and in the last event where they stole funds, it was on September 14, where they were under surveillance.
" Active corruption of serious officials is 4 to 12 years in prison, fraud with serious consequences is up to 15 years if I'm not mistaken and these are very serious criminal offenses. I think that the prosecution has investigated quickly, as it seems from the court decision, it is a proceeding recorded on September 6, 2023, and if you look at the description, the last charge, or the last event they carried out as a group, was on September 14 when have been processed and intercepted. We have a file that the prosecution has moved very quickly ," he said.
