Evaluation of security measures, Belinda Balluku only 30 minutes in the GJKKO;

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, Belinda Balluku, spent less than 30 minutes at the GJKKO, where a session began to reassess the security measures against her and two other officials, Gentian Gjyli and Erald Elezi.

Reports indicate that the session to assess security measures has been postponed for about two hours.

This is due to the fact that the defense lawyers have requested to be familiar with the SPAK acts, on which security measures have been imposed, against Deputy Prime Minister Balluku and two other officials. The GJKKO has decided to make available to the lawyers the SPAK investigative files, on which security measures have been imposed.

SPAK has requested two security measures for Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, suspension from duty and prohibition of leaving the country.

The government, for its part, considers SPAK's measure to suspend Balluk from government functions as unconstitutional. In this context, the government and Prime Minister Edi Rama have addressed the Constitutional Court, requesting the annulment of SPAK's request.

The GJKKO emphasizes that the officials are part of criminal proceedings no. 136/2025 of SPAK, which is related to the tender procedures for the Llogara tunnel and the Tirana Grand Ring Road.

Two days ago, the Special Court imposed the measure of suspension from duty on Belinda Balluku and banned her from leaving the country. Meanwhile, the security measure of "house arrest" was imposed on Gentian Gjyli, director of ARRSH, and Erald Elezin, administrator of KESH.
